IK8VRQ World (and Time) Photo Gallery

This is my QSL card. I take the photo from one of the more beatiful viewpoints in Naples.
My father I8KYA (now SK) with an old 6CHs TRIO VHF trasceiver (The TR2200 rig ..... you remember?) a lot of years ago. Many thanks Dad for all you did for me and also for showing me how beatiful is the ham radio hobby.
My father I8KYA's shack. Note the wonderful Collins 75s1 on the left and the Geloso rig above it
This is our old TH3 beam on the roof. It was up for about 15 years with a lot of DXs and fun
My father first QSL. Note the "1" in the prefix. At that time there were not different call areas. All the Italian station had "1" in the prefix.
A really "new entry" in my fathers's shack: the new "Geloso" rig receiver ... I do still remember the "feeling" of the band switch ..not so bad for that time....
Myself tuning some HF station inside my father shack.. we are talking of about 40 years ago ... Not too people on the air at that time ... I did not really know what QRL? was ... note the CW hand key on the lower right of the photo ..:))
Myself during a ham radio tour to 'Telespazio' satellite relay and control station a lot of time ago.
From the left to right: Gino I8LEL, Archimede I8REK (SK) and my father I8KYA (now SK) during an ham radio meeting a lot of time ago.
This photo was taken on August 21, 1970 when I was 13. You can see in the photo (l-r): my father I8KYA, Gino I8LEL, "kim" I8REK, Enrico I8KTW, myself, K1UOV's daughter, K1UOV Sal, Antonio I8MAY and another ham, Carlo, of whom Gino I8LEL and I do not remember the call sign. If you know it please let me know by email. We were at "Zi Teresa" reastaurant in Naples, taking a dinner together.
Erasmo, IW8BBZ in his wonderful shack over the top of the hill of S.Elmo Castle in Naples. Erasmo is one the most known ham in Naples and now, with the new HF permission and the "brand new" TH2 beam, he is starting the HF dx hunting.
From the left to right: Angelo IK8VRQ, Boris HB9TKK, Boris's YL Manuela and Felice IK8WTD during a pizza QSO near Sorrento (Summer 2005). Boris and Manuela were on vacation near Sorrento and we met Boris after looking for his car in our APRS map and contacting him by email. Thanks Boris to explain me how to work with Google MAPS!

During his mediterranean trip at the end of 1998, Paul contacted several hams by packet and we met him when his ship has been in Naples. We had a nice time together taking a ship tour and a pizza for dinner. 73 Paul!
